    Building a jig rod

I am looking to build a jig rod since I am away from good coastal fishing for a while. I use mostly 150-250g jigs, with a few heavier and a few lighter thrown in. It will get a Saltist 50on it. I don't want to make anything fancy, just a solid performer. What are your recommendations for blank/guides/seat/grips and any tips you have to make it go a little smoother? Should I spiral wrap the guides, and if so, what is the pattern for that? I am looking to keep this at $100 or less if possible. Thanks, Matt.

    Paul,

I'll be giving you a call soon. It would be used much like we did on the jigging competition this summer-Jacks and grouper with whatever else mixed in!
