    broke a rod need advice

I broke a barefoot spinning jig rod the other day and need to "snag" a new jigging rod. I have been looking at the penn torque and shimano trevala rods but have seen some bad reviews. Any ideas to get something to Guam for under $200. I will be using 50-65# braid for mostly dogtooth form 5-40# average with the chance at much bigger ones and some GT's The barefoot was nice and lite but a little on the weak side. any suggestions?

Nothing wrong with the Penn torque or Daiwa Saltiga jigging rods! They may not be the lightest or best out there, but much nicer than the Trevala! I saw a 80-130# Torque land a 60"+ BFT and it landed a 70" BFT a month or two before that!

i had the barefoot rod is a good rod for the money $64 on sale but no more. your best rod would be an OTI 300 gr rod is a beauty and for 169 is worth the money it will be a few more dollars maybe 10 or 20 more to get it to guam but i think it will work the best for what you target.

Just did a quick search on the OTI but I couldn't find it for less than $249. Do you know where to get them online?

I don't remember for sure what the rating was. I think it was 400g but not 100% sure. I broke it while pulling on a fish that got caught up in the rocks. Had the rod tip too high and SNAP! lost the fish too ):
