    Blackfin jigs which ones

I am heading down to HI this weekend and looking for some ideas what the Blackfin down there are chewing on. Looking for a hand full of jigs in the 4-7oz range to pick up at local store down there.

The jigging bite has been good down there over the rocks and I am looking forward to giving it a try.

    Thanks Richard

The next bite on a jig.
You should be able to pickup some butterfly jigs or bentos jigs anywhere. I could help you, but not by this weekend.

Give us a report on the flip side.

I know Patrick Caton has got quite a few on his commercial trips with my flatsides.

Any special sizes or colors? Do you prefer cod style or jap style.

I have a few dozen 7oz and over's for bottom fishing, but never spent any time chasing tuna with jigs.

    Thanks

You know, they seem to want a different color every day, you will just have to experiment a little.

Flat side jigs would be what I would start with.

Bring a few 6 -8 oz hammered diamond jigs. You don't need ay fancy jigs for them. Blackfin are very aggressive and can take any jig moving.

I caught a couple on a 200g Jager jig from OTI (in pink) on the rigs in the GOM. Like Kil said, they seemed pretty aggressive and I think would hit just about anything that's fished correctly.
