    bizarre deep drop catch

Here's what one of the guys onboard pulled up while jigging a Jerkthatjig in 500' or so of water, just inside the Norfolk, two days ago:

Now, I'm sure most of us have seen two fish stuck on one lure before, but look at the size of the rosie on the top hook - it's not even as big as the jig itself!! There was no shortage of wreckfish, blueline tilefish, goldens, etc. but even though this was one of the smallest catches of the day, it sure took top honors as the weirdest one.

We were using Tallus/Torium 30's with 65-lb Power Pro, and we also had a Torque 300/Travala rig. Both did the job well, though I missed my Torsa - left it at home to try out the Torque - it's the real Cadillac! 300 - 500 gram Jerkthatjigs in 300' to 500', 750 grams in the deeper spots, and we had no problems reaching and holding bottom.

Nothing surprises me where rosies are concerned. We've had two fish on one hook several times out there.
