    Best braid to mono knots

What are some of the knots you guys are using to connect your braided main line to your mono or flouro leaders? I'm looking to try some new knots since the few I've been using arent reliable, or are a pain in the *** to tie, expecially while in a pitching and rocking boat. What are some suggestions?

Uni to uni.....easy and clears the guides nicely when tied right.......when I dont use a barrel swivel the uni to uni is my go to knot......just dont heat up the flouro when you cinch it and your good to go.....I am curious as to what knots you have been using? Generally my uni to uni braid to floro connections are 30 lb braid to 20 or 30 lb floro.....alot of times with the heavier braid we have a barrel swivel in place.

I've been using the Albright and the modified Albright knot (I think what they call the Alberto knot). Now I generally use 30-50lb braid and 60-80lb flouro depending on the situation. And the problem I've been having while using those knots for jigging is if it's a decent sized fish that happens to strike on the upswing it instantly pops the line and all I have left is a knot on the end of the line. Which leads me to believe that the braid is cutting through my flouro...

I'm not sure your tieing something right. You say that you are using an Albright, does it look like this...

Thats the one. But I also tie this one more often.

It could just be me doing something wrong, but I tie it just as the instructions say and lube it up with spit, and seat it nice and easy. it's strong in my hands and can handle the smaller fish but as soon as something with an attitude hits...it pops.

The Page Ranking knot, the Sebile knot, and the bimini to bristol(no name) are good strong choices. The PR for casting when using heavy mono or floro is really the only option if targetting big quarry, but truely the wind-on leader is the superior system. A bimini or even a 3 or 4 turn surgeon will create the loop in your braid(or get hollow core and splice an end loop preferably) and simply thread via loop to loop and you have a very strong, very slim connection.

Last spring SF mag had an article that showed the improved bristol excelled all others in tests. I tried and tested it on 30 # 40# and 80# braid and several different size mono and flouro leaders.

No matter how much I tried I couldn't get it to fail. The double uni and albright both failed several times.

The bimini/improve bristol is the way to go.

Now tha you mention it, and now that I'm reading that exact article, I'm going to give that a try. I'm just going to have to practice my Bimini twist :/

Biminis are not really hard to tie. With braid 15 twists,no more.
