Albright knot with a lock is the only knot I use for my braid to mono connection.

Crab mustard is good
bimini in braid
If you tie a bimini in Braid, 40 turns or it will slip.

Yes, 40 turns minimum for a bimini twist. They are easy to tie once you do a couple. I have slowly switching everything to JB hollowcore line and splicing an end loop in for my windon. Much stronger and sleaker connection.

Cockpit Monkey In Training
For my son's science project we tested various knots between 20# dacron backing, maxima mono, power pro braid and mono leader. The three knots we tested were the uni, blood and surgeons.
The surgeon tested out strongest for every combination of line, but still failed at about 17#'s
We didn't test the biminni with a windon leader, a bit time consuming to make up 3 wind ons and then testing them to destruction, but we might try that in the future.
One of the nice things about the surgeon is it's easy to tie, and was consistantly strong. The uni and blood knots had varying failure strengths.

Double up your Braid using a Bimini. Attach the mono using an improved Bristol knot. It is basically an albright, but instead of only wraping down, you wrap up and down. This knot tests somewhere around 49 lbs of breaking strength. Its a slim knot to cast also.
