I'm not sure how widespread it was, but know of two seperate people that had issues.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
[QUOTE=Sea Draggin;1037838]FYI. Hey Andrew, there was a bad batch of this on the market over the summer. There is some good out there and some bad, so if I had any, I would test it.QUOTE]
I had a bad batch, I left about $75 worth of Jim's jigs as bottom structure one day. It was PE-6 (~80lbs) when I put it on a scale it was breaking between 22-27lbs. The shop I got it from replaced 2 reels full about 800 yards free of charge.
Caleb was using 1 of my rods that day and he can attest how easy it was breaking.

Thanks for your advice. I think I am going to go wind-on.
I usually tie a 6-10" piece of #6 single strand wire to the leader to prevent kingfish cutoffs, but it undoubtedly compromises to action of the jig.
I was told of a "sleeve" that slides over the leader, is more flexible & prevents cutoffs. I believe he said they used it when trolling for wahoo. Anyone heard of this or use it?
Any other leader suggestions, or should I stick with the single strand?
Thanks,
Greg
