    BERMUDA REPORT, Seminar and Fishing

    JIGGING BERMUDA

This has been a great four day in Bermuda,

It started about a month ago when my friend Brent after hearing I have been doing Jigging seminars suggested a jigging seminar in Bermuda.
Well the timing was right we set a date, I asked a few people to help out.
My friend drew was able to join the trip.

We were able to get access to a room for the seminar.
The Bermuda fishing Club at Spanish Point was kind enough to open their room to us.

They were holding a tourney the day we arrived, it was great to meet some of the fisherman, BERMUDA REPORT, Seminar and Fishing-few-tourney-fisherman.jpgand see the boats .BERMUDA REPORT, Seminar and Fishing-tourney-boat1.jpg

We brought some great equipment to show,
The Spinal Blanks were are big hit
The Oti poppers were really liked.
The new reel colors rings made a great impact

We met a few new characters Neil Burnie was a standout,
He is involved with shark diving, among A lot of other things

There was a good mix of fisherman wanting to hear our methods and tips.
These guys are hardcore, some trollers with the wanting to learn jigging, and some jiggers wanting to pick up some great info.

We were scheduled to go on my friends boat for day 1 of fishing.
He had a limited schedule, and Neil offered to shuttle us to his boat around noon so we would be able to stay on the water longer.
As it turned out Brent got called in early, and we fished neils boat ALL day,

Neil is a very accomplished angler and diver, and musician, and …well I have only know him for 2 days and he is quite amazing individual,

    Day 1

The day started a little later because we planned to stay late,
We were able to grab a few sandwiches and headed to the boat.

Had a great water tour of Bermudas coves.
    No bait to be found
    We headed to the deep.
The cat made the ride smooth and fast.

We were able to do a little trolling on the way out,
Grabbed Wahoo and black fin tunaBERMUDA REPORT, Seminar and Fishing-wahoo-day-1.jpg

Then arrived at the jigging grounds.
did some nice jiggingBERMUDA REPORT, Seminar and Fishing-jigging-red-rod.jpg

We had all the fish we could want.

    The day was very productive,
We arrived back at the dock and cleaned the boat.

It was to late to get the fish cooked at a restaurant
Neil Suggested cutting the fish up at his place.
We headed over there Had some Wahoo, tuna, and a few others

Hey Paul, remember, that Blackfin was Caught on a jig! Had what felt like a very very nice blackfin or small yft on a jig on day 2 . Hooked up in about 600ft, Big shark wanted it more than me though and took the fish/ jig and everything! Damn, I really liked that jig too! Komo VST swimmer in crazy rainbow color!

    Hey Paul and Drew,

Pleasure to have you guys come over and visit! Too bad about not being able to take you out on Friday but Bones was not a bad back-up......... to say the least!

Looking forward to putting the jigging gear to good use. I think I'm going to have to get a bigger freezer.

Sounds like a great trip! Thanks for putting up the pics. I think Neil also holds the NY to Bermuda record in his Prowler - not sure if it has been broken or not.
