Bass and blue jigging

Hey gang, I posted this in the NJ forum. We had a great day with the metals. Jigging the sand eel pods. Weird though they only wanted it if you laid it on the bottom and used a couple quick jerks of the rod tip and than laid it back on the bottom.

Nice pic's, are you saying the fish were sucking in the jigs while they were lying on the sea bed?

It was a weird bite the jig needed to be lying on the sea bed and would crush it when you jerked it up a couple of feet off the bottom if you came up to high no bites. Kinda of like working a surface popper with a few jerks of the rod tip, than drop it to the bottom. Thanks
