    BAHAMAS JIGGING IN$UFI$HENT FUND$

Made our last trip to the Bahamas before bringing the Venture back up to Jersey. We first started jigging around the different coral heads off of the west end and moved our way down to memory rock. Paul at JPR made me three of the nicest jig rods yet in my collections. these were light weight spinners which were perfect for 200gram jigs, they seem to give the jigs better action because these rods caught 2 to 1 over my others. we nailed a bunch of small groupers and lost about 20 jigs to Barracudas, wahoo, and Kings. The forecast was off once again and it made it alittle uncomfortable anchored on the reef with wind quartering the current. We did manage to catch the usual suspects including a decent 35lb Black grouper and plenty of yellowtail for dinner. Day two was when we did all of our damage including a 52lb King and about a 400lb Tiger. All in all we caught over 30 groupers and all of the other species of jacks, sharks, barracudas and snappers...... Im pretty sure we lost over 75 jigs on the trip! but well worth it!
