Having a hard time locating a picture on the internet... they look exactly like the picture posted by Finesse, but no colored tube - just a straight single hook. AVA's come in sizes 007, 017, 027, 047, 067 and possibly a few others. I prefer the plain hook version almost all the time, but sometimes a tail will produce. They are especially deadly when there are sand eels around.

Every - and I mean every - tackle shop in New Jersey will carry a variety of AVA's. They have been a staple here for years and years, I guess I thought they were standard everywhere!
