April 9th Hatteras - Bite Me

Day two with our crew of NY/NJ Jig fisherman.

today they decided to Jig only.

We hit a couple of wrecks and a rock pile.

Had really good action all day, at times it was just about as hard as you can go.

This guys really know what they are doing with the jigs.

They caught: 30 or so Amberjacks, probably a conservative estimate, 15-20 false albecores, 14 Bonita Mackeral (really good eating we don't see these True Bonita evey day, they are yummy) 6 kings including a 51 pound citation caught by Ross (largest King ever caught aboard the Bite Me) 10-15 Blue runners, a 200 # shark citation battled by AD.

Great crew and it was really fun to have them on board.

Is it me or are more and more fishermen and charter boat captains starting to catch on to the "JIG" thing? It seems that people are "suprised" at what we jig fishermen pull up.

They were 22 miles.

Well, I certainly will jig all day if that is what the party wants to do but there is nothing like:

Big Gaffer dolphin charging into your spread in packs of 5-7.

Hooking 11 yellowfins-The full pull!

Watching a lit up blue one pile on pinky!

Seeing a neon leon white paddle in and chow down a flat line.

You can't do any of that with Jigs!

Jiggin is cool, but there is no magic bullet.
