    Anyone use the VM150?

I have had a jigging blank sitting untouched for a year that I have promised the wife I would turn into a jigging death stick for her (With pink thread and all).
I have been looking at some different spinning reels to mate up with the rod, and really like the looks and price of the new Van Staal VM150. Anyone have one or used one that can shed some feedback?

It will likely not see to much abuse as my wife only fishes one or twice a year. Anyone have any insight?

I have not looked at the150 but larger ones in the series

I ruled it out for jigging because the pressure to turn the handle is too excessive to use all day long jigging. The gears are sealed in oil and it affects your back pressure.

IT was an extremely well built and beautiful piece of art, but I buy tools for fishing!

Thanks for the reply Randy. I have heard that about the sealed Van Staals. This one is not sealed and apparently doesn't have that effect. I am probably going to do a reel w more history showing the bugs were worked out, but because it was not one of the older VS I was hoping that someone had bought and used one jigging.

    Thanks again for your assistance.
