Those are the only 2 on casting jigs that I know of in the same league with yours, my biggest was only about 70.
We should learn wahoo jigging technique from long range fishermen out of San Diego as they jig for wahoo regularly.

I am scheduled to go to Hurricane Bank on a long range boat this fall and I intend not to touch any bait and concentrate on jigging and popping for the whole trip. Basil said they encountered enormous amount of wahoo on his trip with Dennis Braid on the Excel in Hurricane Bank last fall and I am ready for them.

    LR boat

    Kil,
That's cool, what boat are you scheduled on?
With the great tuna fishing of the past few seasons, the wahoo counts are down even though there are plenty of wahoo around.
You should get ample opportunities to jig fish for them.

It is 12 day John Baker charter on the Qualifier 105 leaving just after Thanksgivingdays. I wanted to go on 11 days Wahoodad Charter in Nov, but David said he doubted to go Hurricane Bank, so I choose John Baker charter as John promised me they go to Hurricane Bank. I know 12 day trip to Hurricane Bank is very risky, but I am willing to take the risk.
Good thing is that they don't go anywhere once they go to Hurricane Bank on 12 day trips. They have to sit on the Bank day and night whether fishing is good or not. I hate trolling. when bites are on on the Bank, three - four day fishing is good enough for me. Most 15 day boat fish Hurricane Bank 3 - 4 days and travel to lower Baja anyway.

The next bite on a jig.
That trip sounds like an Epic journey already. My expectations are very high that we will see a nice report from a long trip like that.

    Wahoo!!!!!

    Kil,
That should be an exceptionally good trip for wahoo.
Late November is still the traditional time for 10 and 11-day trips to "cowtown" up off Magdalena Bay, so only a couple of boats will have been to the Hurricane Bank [Shimada Seamount] between September and when you arrive.
Without much recent fishing pressure, the wahoo ought to be voracious!
Oh yeah, there should be plenty of 130 to 180-pound yellowfin too!
