alright guys.... so now i feel a little stupid

So i think im cool and stuff because unlike all of my friends i have a jigging rod right? that puts me at an advantage! no one else i fish with runs jigs.

well now, i take 20 minutes and read both of GMan's "Intros" and all of a sudden im thinking "sh*t, i dont have ANY gear!!!! i need popping rods for when i roll up on Tuna and better jiggins gear, etc.. etc..." so now, somehow i feel under-prepared for fishing! how did that happen?

Well i am adding another pole to my arsenal on friday(Med./Heavy Jigging rod) and then have decided that the next pole after that will definately be a popping rod. I ran into rolling tuna on my last trip and a popping rod is EXACTLY what i needed to land some tuna but i didnt have anything like it.

I am going out tomorrow morning by myself for a little jigging fun. Im trying for tuna and AJ if i can find them. to be honest, ill be happy with fish in the box regardless of species. hahahahaha. But my goal is Tuna. Any suggestions on jig colors would be greatly appreciated.

Blues, pinks, lots of flash all good. Did I mention lots of flash!!!! Good luck out there, try to have lots of different sizes of jigs while you build your arsenal. Tuna and AJs are great fish for the jig.

It all varies from day to day. During the jigging competition I wanted to try a new jig I had and I couldn't buy a bite with it...this last time out it was the hot jig of the day. Flash and flutter are good for tuna, in my opinion. Long fast retrieves are better for AJ's.
