Occupation: helping all guys keep things out of their asses...aka prostate cancer research
I laugh everytime I hook them as well...but haven't regretted a single one yet. I love the battle that ensues. Of course if I had my choice, I would catch something that pulls that way and I take home for dinner...but sometimes the pullage is all you want.

Nice job getting the young man some bent rods!

Best Catch: The next bite on a jig.
AJ are the common man's marlin. The only difference is that instead of hoping to catch one, your almost guaranteed to catch one. You release both because for us on the east coast they are a sportfish.

Its funny, they are revered most everywhere else and for the east coast they are trash fish, because of the lower grade of table fair.

All I can say is that for me both AJ and Almacos are great sport. I have enough other to eat.

I think that is why I like to catch them, for pure fun and sometimes pain.

Nice donkey! He will remember that for a while for sure.

I too love the AJ... they are always a willing foe who is eager to punish you. I haven't caught a lot of them in the past few years.... just one or two here and there, but when ever I feel frisky, its nice knowing they are willing to pull back!

I am learning that Sea Draggin doesnt make a bad jig! Unfortunately that means I need more of them! For the little bit I actually do jig, I sure have enough jigs, yet I can't seem to have enough!

Yep he is 14 and my son is 7 and I got my son into some kings this year for his first king.. Also put em on some nice SB earlier this year and some dolphin... My son loves to get into some spanish cause he can handle them by himself... I got some photos of my sons fish he has caught this year but Im in the middle of swapping to a new computer so havent gotten all my pics on the new one yet.. I will post em when I get em swapped over... We fish a lot but have slowed down the past month but there for 3 month straight we were out almost every weekend or sometime during the week... We go up to 50 miles out in our boat (23fter) and enjoy every minute of it.... My son loves it out there... He gets excited just to see a big baitball come up on the fishfinder.... Here he is with a dolphin we got in together...
