AJ jigging trip to NC for Korean TV crew

After one day rest after coming back to Panama, we drove down to NC for AJ jigging. David arranged a boat and he ran the boat himself. Thanks David for the arrangement. As we could leave NJ after 8:00 pm due to my work, we had to drove 10 hours without any rest to get there scheduled 6:00 am on Thursday. It was amile run from the dock. Capt Rick was there already. Rick gave some information to David where to fish.
Thanks Rick.
Shin had been very lucky for the whole trips so far. This trip was not an exception. On his first drop, he hooked up a nice 70 plus lbs AJ on his Korean jig and whole fight from hoopup to release was filmed.

On the second drift, Yong got a monster on 350g JM rod/Blue Heaven reel. Yong is pretty experienced jig fisherman and I knew it could be a 100 plus AJ judging from the fight. In deed it was over 100 plus lbs with over 60" fork length.

Shin and myself played with light rods. while Shin used Korean NS light rod, I used a JM 100g rods and I enjoyed trememsously fighing a nice AJ with the super light rod.

It was a long journey from Cape Cod, Panama to NC, but I feel they are extremely lucky to fish 7 days ( three days in Cape Cod, three days in Panama and one day in NC) out of 10 day stays in the US considering terrible weather in Oct.
I have no doubt the fishing shows filmed on these trips will be a big hit in Korea and I am glad I could help them.

Best Catch: The next bite on a jig.
Kil,
You have fished as much in the last two weeks as I have this year. I missed the one nice day we had this week for work and now the weather will be terrible for the weekend.

I'm glad you guys could go and had such a great trip.

Jim, you got to see their prototype jigging/popping rods. All are made of new carbon materials. It looks 30 - 40 lbs light 8' popping rods, but the dead lifting power is over 100 lbs !!!
As soon as I saw them, I told them I would want to carry them at my shop.
I sense those new carbon materials could revolutionize rod/blank concepts from trout to giants.
They are as light as graphite, but as soft as glass, but you can not break them while fishing.

Hey Kil, it looks like they are having a blast hanging out with you. That is some good fishing for 2 weeks, CCB, NC, and Panama all at once. Not bad.

My buddy Jim that I brought to your shop that one time said he saw you guys out there fishing. He was with Rich, and said it was good fishing with a nice variety.

Glad to see everything came together for you guys.

Paul they are from Shins company that he works for, called Black Hole. The rods are called Black Jack series. I don't think he is the owner, but not sure. I saw them in CCB they are some nice rods. The new carbons that Kil speaks of are amazing. I actually have some blanks in the process now using it. The numbers are simply amazing, and they can really lighten up the rods because of the strength.
Shin was telling us that they were pulling 1 ton pickup trucks in nuetral with the popping blanks. I did not see this but they said they test to over 140kg dead lift which is mind bogling.

Great report Kilsong. Glad to hear the weather gave you some time out there. The rods sound interesting, if you are going to carry them or the blanks I would be interested. If just the blanks maybe Paul could build me one light for near shore jigging. I'll be listening.
