I'll let you guys figure it out. Different rods will do me no good this year, as I haven't been able to go.

No charters, no commercial, 4 months of broken foot, and now weather that won't cooperate and I am looking back at this year as my worst ever.

Great pics Kil. I was out with Capt. Rick, Ken, and Ron. We caught plenty of AJs (lost count), three groupers, and some bonus fish. I told Rick I wanted Big AJs and he delivered! We all went home aching. Ken and Ron each landed donkeys over 80# and I had my ass handed to me by a big donkey that broke me off after a good battle. I highly recommend Rick of Living Waters (910)620-7709 to anyone interested in jigging AJs or grouper. He went out of his way to make this trip happen and knows his stuff. He has some very nice jigging gear for anyone that doesn't have equipment. This was my first trip with him and I'm looking forward to doing it again!

Kil,
What kind of reel are you using on the lightweight setup?
Thanks.

I used the 100g JM Power Spell rod for fun. However the rod is not designed for big 50 - 80 lbs AJ.
As you see in the picuture, I point my rod tip toward fish so that the rod doesn't get much stress.

I used PE4 reel, the reel is perfect for big AJ as it has enough drag ( 25 lbs at strike), enough line capacity ( over 320 yards of PE5) and exceptional cranking power due low gear and angled custom power handle.
I let Shin use PE4 reel and he said the reel is the best conventional jigging reel he's ever used.

I am going to get DVDs of the shows and upload them on youtube.
They left last night and they want to be back again as they are more than satisfied on these trips.
Two Korean jigging/popping fishermen are arriving at JFK tonight to fish bluefin in Cape Cod with me.

Which rod was this?

The numbers are simply amazing, and they can really lighten up the rods because of the strength.
Shin was telling us that they were pulling 1 ton pickup trucks in nuetral with the popping blanks. I did not see this but they said they test to over 140kg dead lift which is mind bogling.
Trav. Thanks,

anything on the web?
or are they a secret
i see a few companys using more carbon now.
