    550-600 lbs giant on a jig !!!

    Capt Mark of the Canyon Runner called from the boat that Greg (Maximum Anchorage) brought 550-600 lbs giant using 450g Black Hole Cape Cod Special jigging rod/JM PE8 reel filled with Varivas Avani using 32 lbs drag after fought 4 hour 15 minutes today !!!

    Cogratulations Greg, Capt Mark and the Canyon Runner crew again.

    The leader line is 100 lbs Black Watch fluerocarbon and jig used is Labo 230SL.

    i believe there jigging terms, all new to me as well. but from what i understand kil is one of the best to see to get hooked up with the propper set-up...

    There must be some misunderstanding.
    He must be new to jigging and popping communities.
    It is customary to list what tackle used, what line used or what jig used. That is what jig fishermen are intersted in rather than how they catch.

    In fact, I posted about bad experiences with Varivas Avani line on the other site recently and I have to admit my assessment of the lines was wrong after the catch.
    I have been sharing my experienes with other fishermen on several websites so long. If someone says it is commercial, I don't have to waste my time here as there are other sites they welcome my posts.

    Thanks for posting, that is an amazing catch on jigging gear. Maybe if it was caught on a 130 in the rod holder poeple would get more excited!!!
