    "Can it be done without a harness?"

    I think it is unlikely, especially considering the fantastic conditioning this angler went through, but you can make it more likely by targeting big fish in short water. December and January in the Morehead and Wilmington area will offer the next opportunity for large BF in short water (how does 60 foot sound, 15 foot!)

    I expect some to target this accomplishment there this winter. With the exception of the Wilmington Center Console captains, I expect all those attempting it to be the same crusading group of serious northerners that have championed jigging in the US.

    It is a shame that those living close to this world class opportunity are oblivious to the possibility. If they were meant to jerk a piece of lead up and down, their daddys would have taught them.

    Some of the commercial captains in Morehead have laughed at the idea of stopping a Giant there during the winter with light outfits and have stories (possibly from their daddys or grandaddys) of 120 wides being stripped in a heartbeat. They KNOW you never remove the big outfit from the rodholder.

    Let the games begin.
