Sounds like a good day even though the pelagics were on strike... Was the wind from the east?
Pretty work on the bottom critters.

i only used ONE jig all day. and there was not one single drop i did not hook up. not saying i landed a fish every drop (pulled hooks etc). but this jig just flat out produced.
jeff was using jim(seadraggin's) Katana and flatside. mac was using williamson jigs and shimano flatside butterflys. everything produced. it was a Braid (i forget exact model #), but it was a Braid 7oz long (i believe like 10") , chartreuse glow w/ pink back.
i am EXTREMELY impressed with the finish on the braid jig. and i will be buying more of them. i caught probably 8 or 9 aj's on one jig, a grouper and cobe, and it only got bent in the fish box as we threw the cobe in the box. but the finish was absolutely PERFECT, not a scratch to be seen...except where it got cracked from the cobe in the box. but still held together even being cracked through, and caught another half doz fish on it

Well done guys!
Now, call me stoopid, but why would anyone "count down" to the jacks and keep the jig there when there's cobes and gags on the bottom?
Oh, I forgot.... Jesse is young and has the stamina for those donkey fish!

we did about the same thing. had 15 different species of fish on the jigs, only one blackfin on bait. all day bent over w/some mean pulling. what a day out there, im sore as heck all over. sushi tonight, pecan crusted grouper thursday night....then grilled trigger maybe this weekend.
what braid jig was you using?
Nice work. Glad to see a cobe still in the deep. They should be going shallow soon. Sounds like the NE started earlier up your way. I have never seen so many boats jigging as yesterday... may have been more than I have seen in three years combined if you take out the usual suspects.
Great report and pics Jesse. Looks like a great day of fishing. Pretty work.
