2009 in Review - Fishing Pics

2009 was a looooooooonnngggg year for me.

    Made some friends
    Fished
    Lost some friends
Released a bunch of new jigs
    Broke my foot
Fished for several days on aforementioned foot
    Healed
Almost lost the job that pays my part of the bills
Found out I get to keep my job as long as I want to move to Atlanta in 2010.
Try to get house ready to sell and decide if I really can leave NC temporarily.
    Remain undecided and upside down

But somewhere along the way, I did catch a fish. How about you guys? Post your 2009 shots here.

    Great thread idea

What year 2009 was for me overall ... Lets see, I got divorced, lost my job, got a new job, lost some friends, made new friends.

    but ...

Overall this was the best season I had jigging and popping. I caught species bests in almost everything. I had 15 Bluefin this season on either jigs or poppers, my best yellowfin, biggest cubera, biggest amberjack, huge shark on a jig, got my first roosterfish ...

I really enjoy myself on this site and met a lot of people here this season. I hope you all have a great new year

The second half of this year has been one of the worst stretches of down right crappy ass crap weather that I can remember. No windows at all for weeks after week. Allthough it started rough, there were some pretty spring days. Then just finished with pure crap.

At oregon inlet there is a good population of them in the 200-300' range. no doubt the combo of the labrador, gulf stream and right bottom, all coming together. I talked to my guy last week and we are going to take some of my new squid jigs up there as soon as we get a window of opportunity.

If we can ever get a break, its going to be on like donkey kong, with yellowfin icing on top.

In 2010, if I do end up in Atl and 5 hours from the gulf, I'm going to damage the Gulf Fish Population with the full wrath, fury, vengence and retribution for the suckfest known as 2009. With 2' seas a few days a week, its going to be a blood bath of epic proportion, the likes of which is rarely seen there.

I'm so sick of 4-6, that I want to stab a fish in the eye just thinking about it.
