Man, that is a sweet fish. Unfortunetly for us most of the AJ's down here are full of parasites once they are big enough to eat legally. Must be something with the warm water.
Heck of a battle no matter what the equipment!!!!

Thats the good thing about this fishery to be honest its all catch and release so they are all still there. No one takes them because they have worms

Best Catch: 150 lb Tarpon & 65 lb Dorado
Looks to me like you have a new avatar picture with that monster. They are great fighting fish. The biggest one I caught was about 50 lbs. but all i ended up with was the head because a shark took everything behind the gaff as we were taking it out of the water. Congratulations

In 6 trips I have caught about 100 of those fish ranging from 25-120 pounds. The big ones are hard to move once they dig in you just cant raise the rod past mid level, thats how you can tell how big it is. This one fooled me for a while, they have me on video saying it was average at best until all hell broke loose

A true test of gear and brawn, any tiny mistake in mainline, leader or knots will end badly

Video of 120 fight, dont think it was as long as we thought. They started taping around half way through and we have 6 minutes so maybe the fight was 15 max

I was fighting with about 25#'s of drag
