I personaly haven't seen many followers deeper than 150'. I have lost a few jigs to weak split rings, when you bring up your fish and only the assist hook is there. That tells me they had followers at one point.
Nice work on the "splash and crash" BTW.

i did notice though , that it took usually 2-3 casts in the same exact spot, to get the fish back up to the surface after we drifted away a little bit. it seemed like id hook one on top, then they'd get on on bait ,and about 10 or so fish kinda hung around the boat, we'd pick a few, then be a hundred or so yards away from the original mark, and these fish were no longer interested, im guessing maybe they got tired of seeing the same thing, but their behavior really just seemed like they were like "yeah, that bs only fools a couple of us moron...not all of us" but as soon as we got back on original mark, 2-3 casts, and WHAMO, big packs of them were out and hungry ![]() Funny fish..
