When you guys are jigging very deep water for the larger aj's, do they have a tendancy to have several fish following with them? or not so much?

because in the shallower water, they just come up in dog packs.

I personaly haven't seen many followers deeper than 150'. I have lost a few jigs to weak split rings, when you bring up your fish and only the assist hook is there. That tells me they had followers at one point.

Nice work on the "splash and crash" BTW.

I havent seen any fish coming up with others. I did have an outer body experience though casting. We were jigging inshore to draw the AJ's up to the top when my friend Arlen screamed that bait started jumping out of the water so I casted a baby Runboh lure into teh frenzied bait.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz line being pulled out at 20#'s of drag on my stella for atleast 5o yards. Unfortunately the fish got back down into the wreck we were over but man I was addicted

yep, gotta love that topwater, hard to beat being able to see the fish it...

i did notice though , that it took usually 2-3 casts in the same exact spot, to get the fish back up to the surface after we drifted away a little bit.

it seemed like id hook one on top, then they'd get on on bait ,and about 10 or so fish kinda hung around the boat, we'd pick a few, then be a hundred or so yards away from the original mark, and these fish were no longer interested, im guessing maybe they got tired of seeing the same thing, but their behavior really just seemed like they were like "yeah, that bs only fools a couple of us moron...not all of us"

but as soon as we got back on original mark, 2-3 casts, and WHAMO, big packs of them were out and hungry

Funny fish..
