I agree this is absolutely ridiculous. I don't hang it on Obama as this is a creation of Pelosi and Reid, however he has missed a huge opportunity by not taking them to task for it. Talk about throwing the Republicans a lifeline when they are down! I liked the one quote from a Republican that he felt like "a mosquito in a nudist camp" with so much to go after in this bill.

I was in downtown Boston today and there was a big group set up with 'Fire Pelosi' handouts, signs etc. I think congress really thinks they can slip this stuff in without anyone taking notice, and I hope it is finally catching up with them.

I think this is a big test for Obama. If he can't take control of this bill and clean it up it is going to be a long 4 years.

I find the stimulus concept distateful and risky, however with 600k+ jobs lost in January I don't like the alternative much either. We have so much ground to cover to get our economy fixed structurally. Taking all of our medicine now might be unbearable, but the stimulus plan shoudl be a stop gap not a direction.

To me what is sad is how the DC crowd cannot change their behaviour one bit in light of a critical crisis like the one we face right now. I wonder how bad things will have to get before these people wake up. Wonder what congress' approval rating is now?
