Well first thing we need to do is stop expressing our outrage in FORUMS and start doing something more pro-active, believe it or not enough people bitchin' can have effect, sponsor drives for the REPUBLICAN party,write your senator & congressman..be a pain in the ass.i write at least 3 letters a month complaining about the fucked state of this country,and only started doing so when i had my first child..me,i can bail,my daughter cant.
The problem is we just dont do anything..then we ***** about the results.

I'm with you, and believe it my opinion's are not only posteed here. I have called, faxed and e-mail the WhiteHouse, my congressman and senator's. The only problem with all of the above is that you get very little result's. Sort of like all of the Marine Fisheries meetings I used to regularly attend. Give them a platform to do studie's, give them data, etc.... The problem is THEY pick and choose the issues and the way forward on said issue's. I hate to say it, but if you think that you're heard when you call their office's, you're not nearly a bright as I give you credit for. I'd like to see this Country back on it's feet for myself and my kid's sake, I don't plan on going anywhere. But short of killing a few of them to get their attention, I don't know what else will work. I know that's wasn't a real good idea to put it that way and I wouldn't want it to come to that. But with the advent of CAREER, ENTITLED Politician's, how is it in their interest to change??? Money talk's my friend, more now than ever. Frank

You know - I wrote my Senators on a number of Fisheries issues - the response I got back (to paraphrase) was that there wasn't enough support (in the seante) to make it worth her time - because it wouldn't do anything to get her re-elected.

Amazing how prophetic that was - She didn't get my vote (and a lot of people's) after that...

If we want real change, give them a single 6 year term - never let re-election drive their stand on issues...

I know it seems to fall on deaf ears when it comes to our reps and sens in congress but at least with the state govt. the work on banning the pogie boats along the coast that Rube Mcmullen was working on seemed to work. I know I emailed contacts and friends all over the state to get that thru. As far as the her senator good riddance. she really wasn't in it for our state anyway only for herself

Well I'm glad to see that it was not the American Public that called for the Abolishing of Apartheid in South Africa........it was the elected American congress! History has shown in every country in Africa, that as soon as the "black man" ruled that country it was destined for economical, social and ecological doom. Angola, Zimbabwe(Rhodesia) Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya and the list goes on. it is in the 'blackmans" nature to be corrupt,lying thieving thugs! Nothing you try will be able to change this. My own beloved South Africa that I spent two years of my young life defending in compulsory military service, and may I add many a friend of mine perished in, was given on a plate to the blackman, is in economic turmoil....A rapist that believes you can wash aids off with a cold shower is now president!
