    Yellowfin tuna

    Hi!
Where is the best yellowfin tuna fishing in the world? My dad and I are looking to take a 5 or 6 day trip and spend most of it fishing. Although it would be great to land a couple hundred pounder we are really interested in getting more than a few fish.

    What does everyone think?

For strictly numbers I would hit oregon Inlet out of North Carolina in either the spring or fall. it can be the hottest yellowfin fishing on the planet.

Here is a link to a post out of OI this fall. We had a great day catching a limit of yellowfin up to 83lbs

Sheer numbers and size of fish??? I'm a little biased but i'd have to say in all my travels no other place in this world can compare to Puerto Vallarta from a day charter range perspective...

We have over a 90% success ratio on yellowfin all year long and they are obviously some very big fish around these parts...

Mexico for big fish, warm weather, and white sandy beaches.

Oregon Inlet,NC for numbers and different species of fish. (Yellowfin, bigeyes, blackfin, and bluefin). Hardcore fishing at it's best.

I'd go with Oregon Inlet,NC better than anywhere in the world.

Went to Origen Inlet in Feb. 07 caught 10 yft to 45 lbs and 1 wahoo to 50 lbs. We fished aboard the SEA NOTE. You have to pick your days this time of year because of high winds. Better yft fishing in the spring and fall.

Monsters - I live to fish PV every year for shots at huge cows. For the opportunity to hook a monster I would say Puerto Vallarta August, October have been great times to land 200-300 cows but they are there year round plus your surrounded by booze, hot weather and bikinis.

Normal - Venice will give you a great year round yellowfin bite at the offshore rigs, however if you are brave enough to get out in the cold the monsters will rise in December, January and February at the midnight lump where they can get into triple digits but its a parking lot and freezing and you wont get any good bikinis

Here is a decent size PV yellwofin
