OK, I'm gonna stand up then I'm gonna sit down and shut up.
Many threads addressing this issue but this seems like the best place to have my say.
Unfortunately, I am as guilty as the next guy of letting something in a thread push one of my hot buttons.
I will endeavor to be a better person in the future.
I will not respond till the next day when I have had a chance to get really pissed off or cool down.
Fact is, I came to this site to listen to other fisherman, Learn from their experience and Maybe meet a few.
I have accomplished all of those things.
Not to get in a pissin match on the internet.
I have, It's my fault. Wont happen again.
Never, I say never, get in an argument across a keyboard.
80-90% of human communication is non verbal and a keyboard just don't cut it.
I wish I had a magic answer to what would make this a better site but I don't.
(Well, Maybe if you didn't allow people to post on it and clutter it all up or we all make an effort not to let something in a post push our hot buttons and respond).
People are what they are and there will be contention.
Thats not necessarily a bad thing.
You have given every member here the freedom to post and answer. You let the membership drive the content for the most part. You don't overly edit, delete or control what goes on here. Yes, there are some total buttheads. It has been written before, Ignore them, do not respond, let the thread go silent. Do not let it get out of hand.
Folks, As far as I can tell this site is a democracy. Mostly governed by the people for the people. (with a little direction from the boss)
Do you really want John to start banning, deleting, editing and controlling everything that goes on here ?
I'll bet the words would roar of the screen if he started doing that. We don't want to be controlled but we want Papa to come to our rescue if we dont like something ?
Do you think that is what he has planned for his future ?.

Bottom line.

A TASTERS CHOICE MOMENT This site is absolutely the best thing in the sportfishing world . I'm gonna tell you why. Where else can you find up to the date reports from fisherman all over the world. Find boats, charter info., rigging techniques, etc... I could go on and on. Last year I came home from work and logged on and saw an uncle on a crew weighing in a fish at the W.M.O. I didn't even know he was in it until I logged on here and saw him. My point being where else can you watch coverage of tournaments that we all love, and see your buddies, friends, slip neighbor with thier catches and or reports. The networking on this site, I am sure, has helped numerous caps and crews, catch some big game fish from some info . they have gotten through this site. You may say that your tired of the B.S. that goes on here, but you're still reading it. Enough to start your own thread about it. Who cares if guys get on here and try to outwit each other, and then start to bash each other when they get frustrated. People come from all different backgrounds. Some in which , ( I.M.O. are way to f@$king sensative). If your that sensative, turn off your computer and go watch Pretty Woman or something. I personally think it's hilarious when the intellectuall crew on this board gets together and tries to intellectually bash a guy for posting his opinion on say oil prices or politics. I'd frankly wish they would just come out and say " You are stupid and I am smart and I am better than you." I still read it because it's great entertainment. If you don't like whats going on in a thread, don't read it. This site isn't going anywhere... it's too good. I'm sure if you go away and don't come back... This site will still be here. People will advertise on here because they will get business from here. I think if Admin charged say a $ 5.00 - $ 10.00 monthly fee, he would still maintain 75 % of his members and add new members daily. This site will grow. And I don't know where you come from, but when you get this many people together, ego' s will definitly come out and arguments will happen. Disagreements happen and make relationships stronger. Too many bulls in the barn, so to say. So enjoy it, because if you go away, we will still be here. If you don't like what you're reading then turn the page. I never have asked a question in my life and have not expected a smart ass answer. Sometimes it's funny and I laugh. Sometimes it's disrespectful and you move on. People on here were all raised differently and have different ways of commmunicating. So don't get upset when you don't hear ( or read ) exactly what you want.

I love this site. What I really loved was the fact that we policed ourselves and didn't have one person that has to act as "god" and delete threads or ban people. It appears that we have forgotten what this site was all about. We have to stop jumping on the pile and start helping each other see the way. I've been shocked how emotional some of the recent threads have gotten. I'm not the kind of person to jump in or name names. It's not worth it. If we remember not to be baited and keep each other in check, John and his great crew might be able to focus on more important things like continuing to improve SFC. I also think John needs to go fishing - me thinks his spool is getting wound a little tight. Thank for the great site and let's all get along!

I have watched some just destroy everything they have online.

Well I aint gonna be the looser as I have the balls to stand up for what I believe in.

I have done my best to treat everyone equal and probably always will.

Just want to see how passionate some are about what they preach.

When I watch people leave this site cause some one bitches them out for no good reason it makes me sick as I stroke the check to get those poeple here.
