Thumbs up World Record Spanish Mackerel caught in Brazil

It was caught and released by Roald Andretta in Ilha de Currais, PR, Brazil.
The weighting on the boat was imprecise (6 to 6.5kg - 13.2 to 14.3lb). He didn't know it could be a record. I got the info and the picture from the brazilian magazine "Pesca Esportiva". It was recorded for a TV show but their website is down right now I was going to see if they had the shows online.

Damn it Jer....I figured it be a picture of you and one of your new fishing rods. You had any luck yet?

That'd make one hell of a marlin bait.

Look at the tackle that fish was caught on.

From nearest i can tell, not very stout to say the least!

I didn't go fishing yet since I don't know how to make the rigs... I ordered some but they didn't arrive yet. I'm going to Sao Paulo next week and I'll buy the rigs there or learn how to make one. My uncle might be able to help me
I remember caughting ghost shrimp and very small clams (don't know their name in english) with him

Yes, any rig would work... I don't know how to make the most simple one.
I was going to search or ask for instructions but I found some rigs on eBay and ordered them about 40 days ago. I wanted to go the easy way, but the rigs didn't arrive yet. The seller told me he lost his house and stuff in a flood He sent the rigs, I just don't know when.

I will only fish when I'm back from Sao Paulo so I'll have a rig by then

    Jer-

Take any line that you have.....preferably something of at least 25lb or greater.

    http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfi...matedknots.com

take the line and start tying. From top to bottom it should be a perfection....one end....then 6" a surgeons or dropper loop then 6-8" then a few inches and on the bottom a weight or swivel. Your main line then goes to the perfection loop with a snap swivel or just a palomar knot.

Then take two hooks and snell some line to them. make a loop on the opposite end and connect the loops to the loops in the rig you made. That way if a toothy fish bites the hook off you can just make another hook rig and attach it to the bottom rig.

THERE!!! you've just tied your first bottom rig.

put a piece of shrimp or worm or clam....etc. on the hook and cast it out there. find some rocks or a place that you think might have fish and go for it.

Then take some damn pictures and smile damn it....you'll be hooked.

I will send you what you need if you post up your address or PM me. Otherwise you can get by with what I explained above.

It's been too long for you to not have caught a fish!!!
