My buddy has a dealership that sells World Cat in Norwalk, CT. Like any small boat they have their limits, contrary to what some think. I have run demo rides for boat shows on a 250DC and 270SD in some pretty good slop. Also have run the 330TE out shark fishing from Montauk. Where the cats really shine is in the 25' and down range, they can take the short chop pretty good compared to v-hulls. But at slow speeds (trolling) you get an annoying shake when the flat part between the sponsons hit the wave. Cats don't roll as much at rest due to having 2 hulls. A roll is noticeable during turns but you will get used to it. Cats also come in displacement, semi-displacement, and planeing hull designs. World Cat is a semi-displacement style hull. I have also run Pro-Kats and will say the quality of the World Cat is much better.

We fish one (usually the 33) in a tournament for a local dealer.... they are unbelievable in heavy seas. One day in particular we had 6-8 foot seas stacked tight and still made 27 knots.

Dude you can't beat the Cat's in rough water. We fish often on both 26 Sea Cat, Glacier Bay, I suppose that the Wold Cat would be in the same category. Fine machines.

I have also ridden on a 33 World Cat and it is an awesome ride in snotty seas. I have never been on a small cat but everyone that I know that has a larger cat all started with smaller cats and they all say the same thing, if they couldn't have the 33 or bigger they would get the 23.

I have a 27 sc and my dad has a 33 te and they are incredible....i've burned past some 40+ boats in 4-6 head seas. As far as the slower speeds..trolling. I went 7 for 7 on BFt up to 94 lbs this past saturday....go take a ride on one in some heavy seas and you'll be sold

Hey gooch, are you the guy from the World Cat forum that asked about trolling success? If so, did you try one engine?

Regardless, good work on the bfts.

I have a WC 23SF. I've been heading out when larger Grady Whites are heading in; however, that may be more indicative of the capt. than the boat.

Hroonk, I am the same guy...this weekend we fished on my fathers 33TE and I didn't use 1 engine...the wider beam makes the wake much cleaner....I did experiment with my speeds...all our bites came trolling 4.4-4.6 knots...not one bite over those speeds. But their 33 trolls much better then my 27....I was trolling next to a guy in a 27 sc and didn't see him get bit all day, but who knows.....lucky for me i'll be chunking this comming weekend. I always do great chunking the weekend of the oc tuna tourney. I saw u guys had some yft. good work.
