    WMO URGENT

    Guys,

We have a had a few guys back out of the WMO tournament at the last minute now and need bodies to fish the tournament. We are looking for any active duty, reserves military, or veterans of the US military to fish the WMO. All expenses are covered and all you need to bring is yourself and an attitude to have fun and catch fish.

This is through Saltwater Soldiers, a non-profit serving our American Heroes and their families and only current soldiers, reservists, and ex military and veterans are eligible.

All interested please call 703 928-9513. Accomodations are also already provided.

That is a class act. I have some contacts over at the Yellow Ribbon Fund and Walter Reed Medical Center if you would like me to get something going.

    WMO and Saltwater Soldiers Inc.

Please do. I had held off on getting soldiers and veterans to fish the WMO since I thought the USO was onboard. But they backed out and droppped the bomb, in a way, just this past Friday that they only want to do 2 regular trips and not the WMO, which would be a great marketing opportunity to focus on the wounded soldiers need and the veterans needs to raise support.

Let me know if you can get anyone who wants to join us for the WMO or even just regular trips. If I can get some support financially I will try to enter somes soldiers into the Mid-Atlantic 500 and any other tournaments we can do to raise support and awareness for their needs and improving their quality of life.

Feel free to call me at 703 928-9513

    Guys,

We have had a good response to the thread for the WMO so far. we still could take 1 or 2 more soldiers or veterans that wish to have a great tournament experience aboard a fully tournament rigged 60 ft sportfish with some nice fast wheels to get to the fish quickly. We have everything set up including accomodations, food, bait, mate, captain, etc and the soldiers and veterans need only bring themselves, sunblock(if needed), and a good positive attitude for having fun and catching fish. Please note, we do not allow Banannas on the vessel for obvious reasons.

Aside from soldiers and veterans who wish to join Saltwater Soldiers for the WMO, we are still looking for some financial support to help with fuel and any additional support to enter some of the extra categories and entry levels for the tournament. Any additional funding not needed for the WMO will be used for ragular soldiers and veterans offshore fishing trips, possible entry into the Mid-Atlantic 500 (if we raise enough financial support), and also financial aid for wounded soldiers directly to improve their quality of live and provide counseling for the soldiers and their families necessary to help adjust to their injuries and changes in lifestyle. We appreciate all your support and encourage you to view our website at www.SaltwaterSoldiers.org where you can learn more about our sevices for our American Heroes as well as make donations via PayPal to support our efforts. In addition, if any of you are business owners and would like to discuss a sponsorship or partnership with Saltwater Soldiers Inc., please give me a call directly at 703 928-9513. We work diligently to promote our partners and sponsors constantly and make every partnership and sponsorship a win/win relationship throuhg marketing and product usage/promotions.

Thank you all for your support, consideration, and generosity as our soldiers and veterans deserve to be rewarded and given the opportunity to experience offshore fishing that we all love so dearly. Help us make their dreams a reality and forge positive memories for our American Heroes.

Any questions can be directed to me personally at 703 928-9513 or Michael.Branson@SaltwaterSoldiers.org at your convenience.

My oldest son has had very little help from most vet organizations. He is partialy disabled and was on a firemans hiring list in his home city of Ocean city NJ Supposedly to be hired as a vet for the 9 positions open that the city refused to fill for 4 years. In june the city tried to bypass that list and the 3 vets on the list. No vets organization nor was the state of NJ any help in upholding the veterans first hiring right that was voted into the NJ constitution after WW2. We went to our congressman who has been helpful with us when he was in the middle east. He had no power with the city but leaned on them anyway and all 3 vets got hired and trained and are graduating in a week from the fire training center. They have been competing with the police there in training and they said this is the first time during the runs and workouts that the firemen have worn down the police trainees. If it wasnt for his training going on I would have asked him to join you. He waited 4 years since leaving active service to get a good job and had to complete his training. His best friend from the Airborne group has inlaws that have a home in OC maryland also. My 26 ftCC is not in the water this summer and his brothers 20 ft cc is a little small to go off shore in NJ. He has been going through hell with some of his multiple injuries from his service time over in the middle east. Most of those organizations that are supposed to help vets are a waste of time. They dont do half the things they should. We by going to our congressman and also my sons passionate letter to the local newspapers and the mayor then was what Imbarrassed the city from hiring non vet fireman from other cities that were already trained and might or did get laid off from their city. Even His VFW which he was a member was and is no help

Lets do this right.........I am all for any company that helps solders if fact i am over here with my brothers in arms right this very minute so now you know where i put this stuff in my heart.

If you are going to put someone out there you need to have a good amount of fact the fact that he was the only regestered angler according to the website proves only that he regestered the boat and himself online where the rest of the anglers can be put on the written sheets as stated on the same page as you seen below where his name was stating......

"The only anglers listed online are those who have been registered by the boat online, or who have caught fish in this year's tournament. Anglers may be registered on the entry blanks and may not be listed here."

as far as why he is listed as the angler for the catch who knows only he can answer that himself. If it is the fact then by all means the practice shouldn't happen and any benifits that are gained by persenting yourself like that should be stripped.

Unfortunatly all we have to go off is 1 dead marlin with his name and an incomplete regestration via the website. By all means get a hold of him or the solders that were on the boat and get the rest of the story and if it is bogus the go spread the news but half cocked isn't the way to go.
