I have not seen or heard anything in a while and hate to bring the subject back up because of its complexity, but did they ever figure out the whole mess with the winnings and the cheaters for say?

Last I heard, its still tied up in court and no one has gotten paid.

Only thing since the tuna catagory guys filed a motion to intervene is that their motion was granted and they filed their complaint for declaratory relief on 2/15/08. Complaint asserts that since none of the blue marlin winners followed the rules to the letter, all should be dq'd and 1st place tuna gets all the cash. This case will go on for a while. I wouldn't expect a resolution anytime in the near future.
