wireless routers??

I have one desktop and one laptop we got for christmas.Everything is hooked up through my cable, phone,hdtv.computer.Question is is it easy to hook up a wireless router for my laptop????

It is extremely easy. Most of them work out of the box with a web based set up. If you have any issues post up your questions.

before you buy......match the wireless card in the laptop to the router you will purchase and save running back to the geek store exchanging items

A laptop we have around here has a Atheros card built in. The card is Compliant with IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11d, 802.11e,
802.11h, 802.11i, 802.11j and draft 802.11n

So when looking for a linksys router, we made sure it also was Compliant with IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11d, 802.11e,
802.11h, 802.11i, 802.11j and draft 802.11n

yes the geek squad should know what you bought and match up the technologies.

Do yourself a favor and make the router "not discoverable" and put some level of encryption on it, even if it's just basic. This will cut down the risk of someone accessing your systems and reduce the likelyhood of other people using your connection.

This will make more sense when you are setting it up.

I just got a LINKSYS wireless router before christmas. It's easy to set up,as all the instructions are included.
It's so easy......a caveman could do it!!!
