Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income.. In other words tax what you have made by i nvesting toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.

Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!

This woman is frightening.
She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' ( I am not rich, are you)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be s pent, she replied:
'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example,we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.'

(Read that quote again and again and let it sink in. Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it.)

Joe, your credibility is kind of low w/ me. Some of your jokes are good but whenever you venture beyond humor it gets a little lame. It is apparent that some people enjoy these posts true or otherwise, but my OPINION is that most of us would rather stick to reading stuff that is true (and relevant).

Are you serious? What did the dems do to raise fuel prices? I will agree they have done nothing to lower them though....

I did not say they were directly responsible. What I said was look how much it has gone up since they took control of the House. Their pitch in 2006 was getting fuel prices lower but all i have seen is them going higher. I know a lot of the problem is the large speculator investors in the market. I also see where the Democrats do not favor offshore drilling for oil. I also see where they are opposed to additional drilling in ANWR. They might not be directly responsible but you are right they definitely aren't doing anything about lowering prices. Sure offshore drilling and ANWR would be several years off but at least it would let the ragheads and Chavez know that we may not need their oil anymore.

The real problem is that WE dodn't trust the people we elected to handle problems like this. If we had real leadership in Washington there wouldn't even be a question about whether the story is true or false. The point is we don't know any more. Demosrat or Republican, will some one with backbone please step forward. Say what you mean and mean what you say!!!!
