We are about to elect a President, a man about whom we know very little. What we do know about his associations, Ayers, Rezko, Wright, and Phleger raise many questions.

If you take the time to read Obama's autobiography, he states that he has deliberately and carefully chosen his associations through the years because of their like-mindedness. When his "unsavory" associations have been discovered, Obama always brushes them off as insignificant until his feet have been held to the fire- then he starts to the doublespeak shuffle. I would like to find out more about who his associations have been as well because I think Obama has more skeletons in his closet than Jeffrey Dahmer. Also, when most people fly on a plane, they don't interact with each other very much...not even with the person sitting next to them. I've never been invited to someone's house who sat next to me on a plane.

If a Republican were to have ever served on a board or held a fund raiser to start their political career in the living room of a known racist or domestic terrorist, that day also would have been the end of their political career. In fact, there have been Republicans who have ended their careers just by attending birthday parties for fellow senators. Trent Lott at Strom Thurmonds b'day party praised the Senator for his career and commented that "had he been elected for President in 1948, the country probably would have been a better place" referring to some of Strom Thurmonds economic policies that would have brought about economic prosperity quicker than Truman's "tax the hell out of you" policies. Do you think anything would happen to a democrat praising Senator Byrd? Remember, he was a card carrying KKK guy for a long time before heading to Washington.

Letting pedophiles out on the street is a crime in and of itself and there should be a federal ruling trumping state laws that sends these pieces of human excrement on a one way ticket to meet their maker once they are found guilty. The only difference is that they don't create policy or appoint supreme court justices who can ruin this country for the foreseeable future.

Obama is the least tested of any man I know of to run for President. He talks of bringing us together. I don't feel it.

I'm not feeling the love either. His fellow party members are inadvertently giving him away. The BS that Obama reads so eloquently off of his teleprompter, is completely revealed by the arrogance and ignorance of Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Joe Biden, and Bill Richardson. They are already starting to feel like they can be themselves instead of pretend to be "moderates".

The way Obama trashes people who disagree with him is frightening. There is no room for alternative opinions in his world. If GW spent the time and energy trashing his oponents like Obama, his speaches would take days instead of minutes.

The racial divide will be ripped open as well. Last night in an Applebees, there were a lot of people coming in from a Sarah Palin rally at the NC State Fair grounds, there were several black families either seated or waiting to be seated and they were fuming (almost in unison) at all of the McCain/ Palin shirts and buttons that people were wearing as they came in.

No matter what the outcome on Tuesday, this country is not going to be a happy place for a while. Unless it's a decisive win for Obama, I would be willing to bet that we won't know who the President is for several days at least. If McCain were to win, I am sure every close red state will be contested.

I think "politically correct speech" has had a lot to do with our decline. An inability to speak truth for fear of injuring feelings.

Ayers is more than the guy in a seat on a plane. He is an unrepentant terrorist and leader of killers and an enemy of the country. Probably still is. Anyone who associates with this man must explain in detail the nature of the association and the attraction to him. I doubt you would pass an FBI check with this guy in your resume.

Bin Laden is living proof that the old saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend is bulls**t.

It's true that during the cold war, Bin Laden was in Afghanistan recruiting and training the mujaheddins to fight the Soviets. Since Bin Laden was fighting the Russians who were (and still are as far as I'm concerned) our enemy, then Bin Laden was mistakenly considered our quasi friend... The arms that Al Quaida are using now and throughout the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts are actually Soviet arms though. Once the conflict between Russia and Afghanistan ended, the funding was pretty much cut off. Unfortunately, over $2 Billion had been funnelled covertly to the mujaheddin to fight Russia at this point, the damage was done, and the monster was born. One major benefit of the covert program is that it financially crippled Russia and helped bring about the end of the cold war.

I'll go ahead and appologise right here and now for turning this thread away from some noodlehead college Professor--- who apparantly did some dumb ass things almost 40 years ago.
What intriges me is the "changing of direction" within our Country since WWII.
In this regard, I couldn't agree more. However, I'm not sure if we agree or disagree on the the exact direction we have moved--- particulary in the last ten or so years.
Although WWII is a bit before my time, I remember growing up with the entire free World thinking that Uncle Sam and company were the good guys. The peaceful Country with wealth and power that was not abused--- the Country that was there not as a bully, but rather one to lend a helping hand and protect freedom as well as defending the soveriegn rights of nations that were invaded by imperialist movements.
It it apparant that the World's view of the U.S. as the friendly big brother has changed, and rightfully so since those innocent and truly wonderful times of American foreign policy. Today, we are seen as a bully nation of self centered people who believe the entire earth is here for America's taking. Right or wrong, it is impossible to ignore the then stated reasons actions of our country invading Irak (damn cue button), against the will and support of the rest of the free world. When these reasons for invation then proved to be untrue at best (weapons of mass distruction), the U.S. government then came up with the idea of crimes against humanity. Then when the evil dictator was overthrown and taken out of power, the U.S. continued to occupy this big pile of sand by claiming this dung hole of real estate is a bed of terrorism. How many reasons is the World going to get from the big brother with all the money and big guns? It seems, the newest bullshit from Uncle Sam is that big brother will change a culture that has existed for centuries, and that our might will turn an entire society's way of thinking upside down. Yup, I'm a bit young to remember WWII, but I damn sure remember the later U.S. mentality and excuses given to the World during Vietnam.

Current U.S. foreign policy--- big brother, or a nation of fascists?----- before the noodleheads of SFC climb down my back waving Old Glory, please read and understand was fascist means, then we can debate.
