I was thinking...tow it offshore 12 miles and say you found it abandoned at sea...then you get to keep it.....

I thought I heard them say on CNN while eating lunch today that the boat was registered to A politician but did not catch the name.

Amen to that! You could turn that searay into a nice fishing boat...

But seriously, solo fishermen do fall overboard and lose their life or their rigs quite often. I remember a few years ago a guy fishing out of Wrightsville Beach fell over and treaded water for 7 or 8 hours before luckily being rescued. Also, a few months back, a guy out of Ocean Isle fell over and his boat ran itself aground in Myrtle Beach. He was never found. Very sad but also very preventable.

This is where most people would go on a rant about not going offshore by yourself... I won't do that because I would and have gone offshore by myself in a heartbeat. I like "alone" time while fishing or hunting, can be more enjoyable every once in a while. You can also fall out of a tree while deer hunting but people do that solo all the time.

I bet more people are injured falling out of tree stands than falling out of boats by far...

maybe Obama was aboard and a rogue OIL SLICK wave washed him over.......with all the spending cuts he proposed the USCG could call off the search now and save America a few $$$......

These solo mishaps get under my skin... I have a bad habit of going solo. Be it a regular day troll just to run the engines or one of my annual solo swordfish tempt fate kamakazi runs I'm always conscious of what could happen if I lose focus even for a few moments... Prayers for whoever may or may not be missing...
