History shows that if the repubs take over the house this might really help Obama. When Clinton lost the House during his first midterm most pundits thought that he was done and nothing more than a lame duck for the next two years. People were sure that with the loss of the ability to get anything done that Clinton would surely be a one term president like his opponent, Bush the daddy had been.

Then came the expected gridlock and while many repubs say that gridlock would be welcome they may soon find like the repubs in the House under Clinton that gridlock shuts down ALL government, not just the programs and expenditures they don’t like. Everything means money for the military, air traffic control and quite a few government expenditures that are needed. Then the Clinton house repubs realized one thing, that their terms were for only two years and that their chance of getting re-elected if the gridlock continues was very poor. Suddenly they all wanted to work with Clinton and he had a landslide victory against Bob, where’s my ****** Dole.

The Teabaggers now say they would welcome a gridlock in government. They forget that these gridlocks are “all or nothing” deals. Lets see if it would work any better for them that it did for the “contract with America” repubs. Lets see if Sarah or Romney can do better for them than where’s my ****** Dole did with Clinton. Sounds like a recipe to assure Obama’s reelection.

You do know that Reagan had LOWER approval numbers at the same time point and since Obama is 10 times better a president than Reagan ever was and 100 times smarter looks like Obama will easily win re-election.

Very impressive how you dissected my premise. The intellectual retorts are astounding. Here all this time I just assumed I was dealing with mental midgets and now you two have conclusively proven me correct. And to think of all the women who have passed up these two knuckle dragging Neanderthals. That Darwin really knew what he was doing making sure you don't reproduce.

I think the only flaws in your theory , stem from the major differences in political climate from then to now, people are pissed, there's no work, health care stuffed down our throats, lack of "promises" made, coming true..ect....our economy is in tatters. Half listening to CNN, i thought i heard Todd say the president wants to hold behind closed doors meetings at CD to extend a non-partisan hand to the incoming fresh meat and figure out how to get things moving..that to me sounds condescending, His base is collapsing, dems are siding with reps..a gridlock would be blamed on the dems, further sealing there fate come 2012. I personally think this mess needs to hit bottom before Americans get fed up enough to go full tea party, and it wont include bama, or reid..or pelosi or for that matter any self serving, out of touch dems..Thank God.

Obama smarter than Reagan???? You are just stirring the pot right, I know with your intellectual prowess that your post was just a joke. If not the I believe you are the mental midget bud. I admit Bush was asleep at the wheel but Obama is an awful replacement. My only hope is that someone comes along in 2012 with Reagan type ideas and we are smart enough to vote for him.

As bad as business is right now when the Health Care bill takes effect watch the unemployment #'s, they are going to sky rocket. I will have to let atleast 2 people go myself to cover the gap it will create in my budget. Or maybe we could just dump another Trillion $'s out there and watch it evaporate with no effect what so ever. Hard times are a coming boy's things just don't add up. With the numbskulls we have representing us there is no way any good changes happen soon.
