Wink WHEW, my boat/motor problems maybe over....

...just got word from the boat dealer in Frederick, AB SEAS Marine that the engine alarm and poor performance I've been having were from water in the fuel even though I used the Startron all year long and Stabil in the winter...

now this has been an on going problem for 2 years, each summer I drag my boat down to OCMD and before I launch it, I've stopped in the same gas station and filled it up and both times and my boat has died in the back bay of OCMD, both times...1st time it was on day 3 of vacation and last year, I never made it out of the commerical harbor and the only common denomonator I can think of is the gas station on Rt 611, in OC I used to fill it up, both times

so new fuel filter, new Racor filter, fresh fuel, new water pump, 2 new batterys, 2 new tires, new wheel bearings, new straps and Im ready to-go...

Im keeping my fingers, toes and nut-sack crossed in hopes this was the issue and if it was/is, I'll be ready for Rockfish season, so who's wth me

Randy, call your dealer and ask them if it was salt of fresh water...you need to know. Very rairly do you get water from the gas station especially 2 times in a row, filling it up a while apart. Most of the time it comes from contestation or water seeping in fron a bad gas lid seal or your gas vent. I would keep looking, as I think you may have another problem. What kind of boat is it?

Man, that's good news, Randy. I know the frustration you've been going thru the past couple years.

At least this year, there'll always be PLAN "B" ohica

I was getting water from my over board vent. I vent under the gunnel now
and yes if I over fill gas goes on deck, just one more thing to be aware of.
