Is it better to start in the surf or in the back bays for early Spring Stripers?

Back bay incoming tide early then it will switch over to a outgoing bite.
Look for the warm water, as the sun warms the shallow flats the bas that have been wintering in the deep holes or off shore should stick their noses up to sun themselves and start grubbing on whhatever they can find in the mud.
The top of the outgoing on a sunny afternoon is probably the best as Bluewater said because the water that has been warmed in the shallow feeder creeks and sand bars will turn on the hungar pangs.
Thanks for the heads up. I will give it a try.
