These are the people I want to hang out with. Go fishing with. Exchange ideas and encourage each other.
But we are facing a strong headwind. The political forces are not in our favor. We are at present like a ship without a rudder or perhaps like a crew without a Captain. We are looking for leadership.
This fellow, Michael Steele, the new head of the Republican Party fished on my boat off Ocean City. I found him to be the most polite person ever to step on my boat. I remember him standing at the rail saying, "Captain, permission to board". We talked on the bridge. He seemed to be a guy more interested in principle than personal advancement. He looks to be a man we can rally with.
I am interested in working with anyone to advance a conservative free market agenda. It must be an agenda with principle and integrity. No liars, no criminals, no people who would shave the truth to take advantage. Palin, Jindal, Romney come to mind. Petraeus and Odierno are obvious leaders.
Hopefully we will work through this period and come through with only superficial damage. The great harm we must avoid is a loss of our individual spirit and a surrender to collectivism and becoming a faceless form in the mass of humanity.
