Where did this mad dash for insurance come from!

I deal strictly with boats and yachts (thats what i know and love, so i like it that way) Im not around the auto end so i really couldnt say how the competative rating has affected us.

....i must say i was waiting for something like this too happen. This whole thing started because alot people were not getting compensated for their losses.

what does the uninsured motorist cover? i always thought that was for the guy that hit you that had no insurance........not motorist, but boater. isnt there something on my policy that pertains to that?

yes you have coverage in the event you are hit by an uninsured watercraft....but this isnt geared towards those with coverage! You dont have to worry because you are covered this is geared towards those without coverage who can potentailly cause an accident the "uninsured motorist".

what if two people without coverage are involved in an accident? who pays then?

and then....

why should i pay for an accident i didnt cause, shouldnt the negligent party be responsible?

This law proposes to answer those questions, by making everyone on the water responsible in the event of an accident. Have you ever read the coast gaurd reports on accidents on the water....its amazing the amount of accidents that happen every year with uninsured boaters.

Yeah its an added cost but everyone should have insurance just for yourself and your family. It may sound like a commercial but ever lose a loved one and be burdened by the expenses? IT SUCKS!

I max insurance on everything I own, including myself. I have had life insurance for 8 years now, I die people get rich!

i was in an accident in october. got rearended by an F350, he totalled my new SUV, blew all the glass out twisted the entire car up....if i didnt have full coverage i would have been screwed...

but now i sound like an old insurance agent.....so ill stop.
