Whats the deal with cell phones and fishing?
Just looking to see if any one feels the same way. I go fishing when ever i get a chance. But the other half doesn't like it so much, because i can't be reached by phone. Now she is nagging me to get a repeater system to take with me. What the heck........

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
hey fly, i agree, i dont have a wifey but none the less there is always someone trying to get ahole of me while fishing. I'll tell you one thing, i do bring my cell phone on board when im inshore but when the lines are in the water i dont drop the pole to pick up the phone. Many would disagree about even bring a cell phone on board but in this day and age you really cant go anywhere without it. As for your situation, the other half should understand. Its fine to contact her on the way out and back in but i like to be distraction free when on the boat.

Fish the Edge
Team Sportfishermen.com
I like to use cell phones to call buddies sitting at home or behind the desk or on the site working. The larger size fish have found our boat and we are bailing them left and right. Then I say , let me call you right back...Fish on......He He
Boy this gets them every time
welcome to the site

Get the repeater, take the phone and then shut it off. Call her back when your ready and say "I must have been in a "bad spot" or you know these things aren't reliable, etc".

My phone has a decent camera built in. I can send pics to my buddies that are stuck at work while the fish is still floppin.
