How about some footage of the leader man teaching the bill fish the dance at boatside. I really like that stuffFirst time I saw it I was hooked for good.

Shoe -
IF you're driving yourself, it will take about 2.5 hours just to get to Jaco....if you've hired someone...they drive a little more crazy.
The road from SJ to Quepos is as about as twisted as a soon to be ex-wife in front of the judge and there are NO driving rules....they pass on hills...around curves...and there are VERY FEW guard rails if any....you might as well figure about a 4 hour drive to Quepos from SJ.
However...you can fly from SJ to Quepos on the local in country airline called Sansa. It's only about $75 US round trip. Be aware that the baggage weight limit is only 20 KG....if you're over they just charge you for the extra weight. Sansa has flights from SJ to Quepos about 6-7 times daily and the same on the return. You can rent a car once you get to Quepos if that's what you're looking for.
If you decide to drive....just take it easy and try to avoid the locals......
We want LOTS of pics of trolling....daytime and nightime!!
Glenn W and myself will be there in mid-March....Who are you chartering?? We went with Big Eye Charters....he's an American out of Mass that fishes in CR in the winter and the NE US in the summer. They just brought a new boat down in November. If you haven't hooked up with a charter yet, you might want to check him out. I haven't fished with him before....but he seems to have it together....and believe me....it is VERY NICE to have an English speaking Captain. Also, you can do as little or as much of the rigging, leadering, etc. as you want with him which is a BIG PLUS.
Have a great trip!!

In the 90's there was an open air bar in down town Quepos just down from the marina. I caught a Rooster fish on a fly rod there late one after noon.As I was fighting the fish people were lining the railing with beers.
All was well until I released the fish...all the beers went away.
True story...don't make the same mistake!
