    Cool At What Point?

Is it just plain too much???

Traveling around the carribean we see a bunch of megayachts... Then we get to Nassau where the run of the mill 120-150 class just don't measure up... I saw these two and it boggles the mind that some people can have that much money as to have a hundred million dollar toy like them...

Look at this pig... Shes got a 70' sailboat and a 70' go fast yacht stored on her deck with huge hydraulic launchers to get them wet if need be. The cruise ships in the back ground are oppulent enough but they service 3000 guests each. This boat serves a single owner and a hand full of guests...

Then take a gander at this beast... Seven working decks? You can hardly make out the 50-60' varnished wood work of art she boasts as a tender down at her water line... Where do people get this kind of wampum?

I was thinking the same thing a week ago as I was thumbing through a issue of "Yachting" magazine. Literally page after page of Yacht brokers with hundreds of MEGA-YACHTS for sale...10, 15, 30 plus million dollars. I'll admit, I find myself daydreaming from time to time...there's AG at the helm of some sweet 40' sportfisher...sun reflecting off my receding hair line...your basic run of the mill daydream...but yachts like this...I can't even dream that big!!!

Knowing alot of people that work on those boats, most owners are European businessmen or land owners that were left a gazillion acres of land and now there's cities on it. Not to mention the occasional computer guru.

You seen Paul Allens' beast "Octopus"? This is what $200 million will get you.

It just blows my mind... Seeing this class stuff... The 30 million dollar rigs are past imagination then you get these 200- 300' beasts pushing over 100 million and its almost surreal...

Something did catch my eye while there I thought "interesting" was the number of 100-130' rigs that didn't dock and chose to anchor out instead... Saving money?

Well, if I only had a 110' boat, I probably would be embarassed to park in-between those two boats as well.

There were plenty of slips available at places like Atlantis, Yacht Haven, Paradise Harbor, etc... They just opted to anchor out in some pretty windy sloppy spots...
