With all the cutbacks and ways to trim cost our county schools have purchased new software just for the bus route schedule to reduce stops and trim up the fuel cost. I know they struggled before, now I have two kids riding the same bus to the same school scheduled to be picked up from TWO different bus stops. Makes me wonder what kind of first day our drivers will have and if the energy needed to fix the new system could have been used to tweak the old.

Put the kids on the same bus - but every other day, switch to the other bus stop.

I'd say that's close enough for Govt work

It has come to our attention that your family's personalized bus route information in the School Division calendar may be missing your student's afternoon drop-off time and location. Our printer regrets that they left off this line of text.

Next week, you will receive a bus route confirmation card with your student's complete bus route information. Please look for this letter and pay special attention to it this year. No taxpayer funds were used to reprint this information. If you have any questions please contact the Transportation

That and many other reasons ,is why most SMART school systems have gone to outside contractors to ferry kids,same with DMV..way too complicated for govt work.

Find out if the bus schedule people are products of the school system they are working for, and if so, Move quickly.

Had to add this email that went out about the bus schedulemand the first day of school was a mess. Bus was 40 lates on the pick-up and in the afternoon the roof hatch wasn't working so they had it fixed waiting over an hour in the school parking lot without notifying anyone...

I want to take this opportunity to apologize for any confusion that may have resulted from a recent Sutherland Matters PTO email message about bus route changes that was in Spanish, followed by English.



Because the message about changes to bus routes is critically important, we had it translated into Spanish for those members of our community for whom that would be easier to understand. When it was pasted into your email message, the Spanish was on top, and the English was on the bottom, which may have been confusing for you when you opened the email.



We work very hard to communicate with our families in a timely and accurate matter, and I take full responsibility for this situation. In the future, we will be certain that any bilingual messages sent to all families appear in English, with the Spanish translation following.



Thank you for your patience and support as we work together to ensure our entire community is aware of these major changes to the bus routes this year.
