what do you folks think?
Got an email from boatpix today with a shot from back in june- a lot of money for the pix but i really think it is a great shot. wife says im full of shit to pay 200 bills for a nice 11x14.(8x10 is 125 and 16x20 is 250)- what sayeth the all knowedgable members of sf.com??( i kinda really would like one but know what the consequences might be )
At those rates, I just need to buy the penthouse suite at the end of the inlet, setup the tripod & telephoto...and go to it. Seems I could get at least 10 guys to annie up each week.
It is a cool pic Miles...but, I will stand up on the Seagull pier and take a pic of you driving by for twenty dollars and give you the free coke. 200 is steep. They own your ass anyway at this point with that cool shot...you might as well just write the check...you know your gonna.

Yeah their expensive. They took a pic of my dads boat back in August and for some of the pics they wanted more then that . Its a load of bull that much money for something thats not that hard to do and cost them practically nothing. Just like what Holwachagot and Galazio said you could have some one else do it for you from on land or on another boat. 35viking.
I can see them charging a flat $100 for acess to the shot and then another $10 or $15 per each additional maybe, but the difference between an 8x10 and an 11x14 is NOT $75 in developing
I agree with everyone else here,,,,have someone jump on the pier or bridge or whatever with a nice digital and boom/////Hell for $800 you can buy a DAMN Nikon D-80 that is 10+ Megapixels which basically means it will blow up your photo to like 18x30 CLEAR
