What to do waiting for the offshore season

We pulled out of VA beach about 8 am got the call its going off at the corolla light tower. So we hammer down it when we get there it looks like a gannett bird kamakazi convention. The bee hive was so thick we were worried about getting dive bombed the bait was so thick it was like reading a false bottom. But with all these conditions you had to work for the fish it took us about 5hrs to limit out with the best at 40lbs two in the mid 30's two in high 20's and one little boy.The weather was decent all in all a great day and the best part about rockfishing is I don't need to winterize the boat.

It reminds me a lot of a Yellowfin.... but a bit more affordable. How does it do drifting or on anchor? It looks like it could move too.

It's not bad at drift it moves back and forth but it's a soft transition it's alot more affordable than a YF and will hit 55mph not that you can ever run that fast.

    55 G'damn !!!

Just checked the specs. The cape horn weighs just under 5000lbs.

I've got a 1999 30' Grady White Bimini 306 center console. it weighs 6500 w/ out engines. Goes about 46 WOT while burning about 46GPH. I've got dual Yamaha 250 EFI's. Doesn't seem to matter whether the tank is full or not.

That's a big difference in speed for the cape horn. Unless your fibbin'

How's your fuel consumption? I cruise at 1.2 GPH

No fibbin hear I have a fast cruise of 42 at 1.4 and slow cruise of 36 at 1.8 the weight they list is just the hull no top motors nothing. It's avery basic design which I like very easy to upkeep.
