What do I do now?

Yesterday I picked up this elk mount I killed in Colorado and brought it home. I planned on hanging it in the stairwell however the spread on the horns is approx. 40+" and my stairwell is only 38". I can put it on my wall with eight foot ceilings but my daughter would be eye to eye with it.Now what?

I'd love to have the antlers but not the head...I make custom knives and the antkers make great handles. BTW, if anyone out there has antlers they would like to get rid of free, I'll gladly take them.

Well when you can't fit the family in the 12 footer anymore, you buy a bigger boat............

Christmas is coming soon. Mount it to a sleigh and put it on your roof.

Hmmmmm.... Thats a tough one... I mounted a 14 foot tiger shark I caught in my skiff without realizing my biggest wall was only like 11 feet... That mount has long since become part of the folklore and legend of Whale Harbor Bar in Islamorada...
I love sneaking back there and asking the new captains on the dock the story of that fish. I really love how many claim it as their own. Then their faces are proceless when I introduce my self properly.
That mount of yours is too nice to just tack up in some strangers bar though... Me, I'd hang it above my bed. That wayy my wife would have someone to talk to when we were being passionate...
I'd imagine looking at it that height would restrict putting it say over a couch or fireplace but its possible it could work there. You could put it in the kitchen and use it for a pot hanger you could put it in a bush in some near by hunting place. Locals would shit if they saw that!
I dunno, things like that have a way of finding their own special home. When its right you will know..
