are a coming. The lifestyle and industry of the United states have been supported by plentiful and reasonably priced energy.

Those days seem to be over. Look to a falling stockmarket, more foreclosures as people lose jobs and are unable to keep up with debt.

Disposable income is falling like a stone. People are retrenching, preparing for the economic storm.

This is regretable as we have abundant energy supplies. I see millions of people building nuclear power plants, coal gasification and shale oil facilities, drilling to enhance our reserves, clean coal, etc. But unfortunately we have lost the will to compete and it is unlikely we will do anything.

I have always been an optimist but no more. I see calamity ahead.

The American Consumer has to be the dumbest group of people in the world... Come on people...

It isn't about $1 gas that soon became $2... then $2 gas the quickly became $4... (and coming soon to a gas station near you, $7 gas... yea baby!)

What you should be pissed about is the VALUE OF AMERICAN CURRENCY, not gas. I could careless what something costs if I am paying with the most power buck on the street. but the American Dollar is being run into the macerator by your government... Let's do some math:

$1 gas cost $1 dollar... OK?
$2 gas cost $2 dollars... got it???

Now, what is the "value" of the dollar compared to what it was in 1990, 2000 and 2008???

Figure that out and you'll see this isn't about $4, nope... it is more like $7 already in the economy of scale and soon to be $10 as this next round of oil prices hit the street and the dollar drops again on the market.

BTW, keep voting in Republican or Democrats... afterall, they have do a great job at protecting OUR country, OUR economy, OUR shores, and mainly OUR Constitution and Bill of Rights. This is the biggest heist of a country's wealth and we are just sitting here letting it happen.

We've have been lulled into complacency. We used to sit with our fist cocked too any one who put the USA down in any fashion. Now the politically correct thing to do is say " they're right it must be our fault". I truely wish we as a people would find our backbones again. That's what put us on the map to begin with. What was wrong with having our own economy, not world economy, using the fractional measuring units instead of metric. For GOD sakes this is the United States of America. The whole world used to want to come here or be like us. This decline started when some "rocket scientest", "feel good moron" descided we should become like the rest of the herd, the problem is WE Bought It. Wake up people!!! The Lord has Blessed this country (in my opinion) because we stood for what was right and just. Remember In God We Trust? My 2 cents worth.

It's very bad for all businesses that the barrel of oil is that high (other than oil companies and oil speculators), but the dollar is very weak and it's just going down / getting worse.
