    West Palm to Grand Bahama?

Going down to WPB Wed. and thinking of running the boat over to Grand Bahama,Anybody know what the distance is? And if we go other than having proper paperwork,is there anything else I need to know to make the trip as smooth as possible.

    Thanks

Depends on where but 55 ish to west end from pbi taking inconsideration "crabbing" with the current.... Birth certificate or passport required. Current registration or doccumentation too. Returning you need to phone cleat then appear in person at customs/ immigration to prove citizenship...

    things to take...

passports for everyone aboard / your vessels registration or documentation / if you have a firearm aboard list the model @ serial # and how mant rounds of ammunition (don't ever lie or think your getting away with anything by not declaring a firearm!!!) / bring your cell phone it may just work fine over there - ours does but the costs are high / bring good dock lines to tie up properly / make sure you understand where you are going and you have a paper chart to see in case your gps chart takes a holiday / note your compass headings on your dash with a pencile (most people don't have a compass that reads right due to electronics, or battery operated toys beside the compass) / make sure you and your crew have good shoes the docks and coral can be bad / with the cost of fuel anymore make sure you take what you need not the whole house! / a coat or sweatshirt is needed at night the islands have a cool night breeze when the sun goes down / bug spray!!! west end has some no-see-ums that can carry off little kids.. / some Owner mutu 2/0 circle hooks for yellowtails / some cash for conch salads, tips, a good attitude is very important and understand you are going into "Island Time!" do not get freaked out over how long things take or how long your check gets to the table...deal with it and enjoy your time and friends! / (tip out the customs and immagration 10 bucks each also in case you have not crossed your t's and dotted your eyes they will work with you instead of sending your butt back to the start line.) it's about 65 miles inside to inside inlets have a great time it is 150.00 to clear with 4 people extra people are 15.00 extra 35' and under . / big boats pay more the fishing reg's have changed and you can have a good amount of fish now
